Five days at sea. This is the longest stretch of time at sea for the whole cruise. We didn't have an equator to cross, or an extra day, just open seas and three hours time to lose to get on LA time. We were curious as to how they would entice us to occupy our time. We now have four lecturers on board and different entertainers - Fred Bevill, a comedian, Ray Michael, a cruise director on a busman's holiday, a new guest chef, Jean Louis Dumonet who is President of French Master Chef USA and Canada.
We have traveled a total of 5,590 nautical miles from Papeete to Los Angeles this segment called Polynesian Treasures.
Some of the highlights include:
Our chef Farid in front of a Grand tea dragon sculpture
David's performance as Mark Anthony, here mourning his friend Caesar who was killed on the Ides of March. Terry Bishop scripted this Shakespeare drama event, complete with reporters and advertisements. Sam DeLong is in the background, the ineffective security guard of Caesar.
the American buffet sunset
The Captain with the whole staff behind him on the farewell night event
Participating in the Country Fair at rope tying. We attempted a half hitch.
Another special Terrace Cafe dinner display
We had smooth sails, sometimes cool temperatures, and plenty of time to relax, talk to other guests, play trivia and bridge, and do needlepoint. I have made several projects. I made three scissors cases and mailed them off to Anchorage for Nadene, Suzanne, and Marianne's 70th birthday party at Marnie's on July 13th. Here are some other projects
Coin purse, glasses case, scissors case, and two makeup cases. I tried to find kits with a Hawiian theme, but the competition to get the kit you want is fierce!
