We drove by van with only 16 of us to the base of the Diamond Head trail. We were able to park right at the beginning, by the restrooms, not below which required hiking a lot more. This is why I wanted to take the ship's excursion rather than do it on our own.

Our cute guide gave us all certificates of achievement after the ascent.
We returned to the ship and decided not to venture forth again, but relaxed until our World Cruise Special event at the Battleship Missouri. This turned out to be a spectacular success by Oceania. We were sorry that Gene and Martha had to miss it, but she is alive after a huge scare.
We were greeted by hula dancers, then climbed onto the ship
Greeting
Plaque commemorating the spot for the surrender on this ship. Also a trivia question.
Serving drinks on board
I commented that the three World Cruise events, The Thai extravaganza in Bankok with entertainment and fireworks, the catered luncheon at the foot of the Great Wall of China, and this one on the Missouri, were beyond our expectations in quality and enjoyment.
Missouri evening looks amazing. Someone should open 40s era nightclub in Honolulu. Cannot believe you had not climbed Diamond Head before. Its a great 20 min walk.
