May 15, Friday, Tasman Sea

We have been having rough waters en route to Sydney.  I think there is more danger of falling down than of getting sea sick.  I had on a patch and the wrist bands.  It was otherwise a beautiful sunny day, but getting cooler as we headed south because it is now Fall in Australia.

Marlene Guelph, from Canada, told me about two iPad programs to record a journey.  One is My Vacation, which will present a slide show if you want.  The other is Travel Pod which you can share easily.

The bridge teachers, Kay and Darwin Asdahl left in Sydney
I am with my bridge partner John G.

From Singapore to Shanghai, we traveled 3,778 nautical miles.
From Shanghai, China to Sydney, Australia, we traveled a total of 8,815 nautical miles, for a total distance of 12,593 nautical miles.  This is 14,490 miles.  It is 24,906 miles around the earth.

It is 4,640 miles from Hawaii to Orlando, FL.  It is 8,159 miles from Orlando, FL to Johannesburg, S. Africa.  It is 4,996 miles from Johannesburg, S. Africa to Delhi, India.  It is 2,579 miles from Delhi, India to Singapore, Singapore.  We traveled 20,374 miles to get to Singapore.  From Singapore to Sydney, we traveled 14,490 miles, for a total of 34,864 miles.

We have yet to travel back to Miami, FL. which I looked up as follows.
It will take us 1,339 miles to Aukland, 4,369 miles to Hawaii, 2,479 miles from Hawaii to Los Angeles, it is 3,900 miles from Los Angeles to Panama Canal, it is about 2,500 miles from the canal and Miami, FL, our final destination.  This makes the total of our voyage  about 14,600 more miles totalling roughly 50,000 miles.  Returning to Kona adds 4,640 miles again for a grand total of 55,000 miles.
